As a top grade bartending school we always teach about putting quality before quantity, and how to appreciate the art we put into the glass.
While attending the class of Mixology I you will participate in structured lecture and lab time with your instructor whether you take our Day, Night or Weekend program!
- At its most basic, mixology is another term for mixing drinks or bartending and a mixologist is another term for a bartender or bar chef. However, mixology is generally accepted as a refined and in-depth study of the art and craft of mixing drinks.
- The Bartender's Professional Training Institute, Inc., began training students in Buffalo, New York in September of 1992. Within 6 months we opened schools in Rochester and Syracuse. We are the largest, most-successful Professional Bartending School in New York State. The owner has owned and operated restaurants and bars for over 16 years.
- A course designed to introduce the beginner to the world of wine, bartending and the art of mixing cocktails; where you will learn about wine regions and grapes, the wine and wine service; as well as the basics of bar tending, understanding spirits, mixing cocktails and serving drinks.
- You can see mixology as an extension to bartending, but regardless of whatever anybody thinks, a bar needs both a mixologist and a bartender. For someone looking to perfect the art of bartending, acquiring mixology skills betters your chances in the industry. Are there any similarities between the two?
After learning the basics of operating behind a bar, students have hands on training on the crafting of drinks and also preparing real garnishes. While learning to be accountable and in compliance with local and federal alcohol regulations. Expect to work to achieve your goals in completing this course! We do not hand out certificates you EARN it.
During Mixology I you will receive the TIPS certification required by state law to serve alcohol after successfully completing your mixology exam. Your TIPS certification is included in the price of your class and will need to be renewed in 3 years after completion of the course. The certification consists of a lecture and test.
